Oh, and which rights were removed? I can't recall.
And really, we were being so selfish by going into Iraq and helping to support their country. We should have left the Iraqi citizens to die, don't you agree?
yeah I am going to have to disagree with you on the reasons for invading Iraq. It sure seems like a lot of them are still dying, and not remarkably pleased with us. There are several other areas of the world which would appear to need our "help" not dying as well, but we aren't in them.
Maybe you are not familiar with the term "civil liberties" and the "patriot act"? Perhaps you should look into that.
Their are certainly less dying than before. And aren't they working on their own democracy, now?
That isn't taking away our rights. Really, do you think Bush woke up one morning and decided he wanted to listen in on a random teenager's phone calls? Just because they don't need the court's permission to search someone, it doesn't mean that they are going to abuse it. It's not against our rights, either. The Constitution states that in times of terrorism, the government can overlook some of those laws in order to protect us.
actually, I think the government will abuse powers like that. I think it is a very slippery slope when our rights and civil liberties are given away. It is easy for a government to make the gradual shift to some kind of fascism, and that scares me. I am uncomfortable with the government "overlooking" laws, because that is not a path I want to see the end of.
I am sorry, I can't stop laughing that "liberal fascism" is a term someone used. And yes, people do love tenuous connections (that don't prove much) between Hitler and... anyone.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This contest ends on Friday the 18th December 2009. If you want to enter, get your entries in quick! Here are all the entries so far. Also if you want to donate a prize, that would be fantastic too, just note me

One thing in that book stuck out to me: Clinton and Obama support ideas that the Nazis also supported.
